Presentation Overview
Engaging online
South Australia’s experience with our Strategic Plan
The consultations around South Australia's Strategic Plan offered a unique opportunity to pilot the tools and techniques of web 2.0 to invite the community to be involved in the development of the Plan.
An online consultation tool and an extensive range of contemporary social media raised the profile of the plan, the consultation process and also provided an online consultation space. The website complemented face to face engagement sessions but did not replace them.
This presentation covers how the Plan update used technology, including social media to engage the community and through this, delivered a significant culture shift in how government sees its role and how it engages with the community.
