Simon Gilmore

Simon is the deputy convener of the Institute of Public Administration of New Zealand’s (IPANZ) New Professionals Group and an Analyst at the New Zealand Treasury.
He started in the public sector through the Treasury’s graduate programme in 2006 after completing a BCom (Hons) majoring in accounting at the University of Otago.

For most of his career he has focused on public management issues including the New Zealand state sector model, accountability documents and public finance regulation.
In 2008 he was seconded to Ministerial Services where he served as economic advisor to the Minister of Education. He is currently working in the Policy and Organisational Strategy Team at the Treasury providing strategic and resourcing advice to senior management.
