Welcome!
I take great pleasure in inviting you to Hobart, Australia for the IPAA National Conference being held August 25-26 2011.
IPAA’s National Conference is the premier forum each year for debate and discussion of public sector change in Australia. It presents an opportunity for public servants from all tiers of government and others with a professional interest in public sector management and public policy to learn from academic study and practical experience, network with peers and colleagues and explore new directions .
This year’s Conference, Learning to Power Share explores the challenges and opportunities involved in minority government under its theme, "Hanging Our Parliaments or Changing Administrative Paradigms – Minority Governments in Practice”. Topics to be covered include New modes of governance, Decentralisation and Regionalisation and Ethical Leadership.
Join us in Hobart, the home of minority government, for a stimulating program bringing together leading commentators, researchers and practitioners and the opportunity to share ideas and experiences in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
I urge all of you with an interest in the current and future challenges facing the public sector to register for this important event.

Dr Lesley van Schoubroeck
Deputy President
